We will strive to find other conservative groups that work towards similar missions. Engaging the community, looking out for our future generations, supporting traditional values, an affordable economy, tracking political promises (verses accomplishments), eliminating tax payer fraud / waste, and seeing that our children receive a good education is not an easy goal. There was a time when 9 states had no debt. A look at those states identified a 365 day audit of their spending in every state that was out of debt. Some states like Arizona struggled with education and instituted a policy that educational dollars followed the child. Any parent could choose their school. It made Arizona have the highest number of top public and private schools of the nation. These are facts that the attendees of the Kansas Polity Institute meetings knew by their efforts to inform the public.
The Jeffersonian notion of smaller government works. During the Clinton administration the number of Federal employees doubled. Although a Republican congress balanced the budget, the overall spending during Clinton (long term cost of doubling government) went through the roof. Politicians often make decisions to look good in the short term while extending their influence and agenda deeper into the halls of more government.
The Kansas Policy Institute is a good example of an independent organization designed to track voting of our Kansas Senators and Congressmen. Its organization has been set up in every state in the union. It is mirrored with a national policy institute to keep track of Senators and Congressmen in Washington D.C.
